Vaccination services

The vaccines and boosters included in the national vaccination programme are administered by nurses at your local health centre. The vaccination of children and adolescents is coordinated through child health clinics and schools, with the exception of influenza and coronavirus vaccinations. Your local health centre also provides advice and information on travel vaccines and the prescriptions needed to get them. Remember that it is up to you to make sure that you get boosters for any vaccines you were given as a child or an adolescent.

How does it work?

All the vaccines included in the national vaccination programme are free of charge and available without a prescription. High-risk groups are also offered certain vaccinations, such as seasonal influenza vaccinations, free of charge. There is also no charge for influenza vaccinations for family members of people who are at risk. Other vaccines are classified as prescription-only medicines, and there is a charge. You will need a prescription from a doctor, and you will need to purchase the vaccine from a pharmacy yourself. You will not be charged for the administration of the vaccine or for any advice provided.

  • Other vaccinations for adults: Call our telephone reception team on +358 (0)19 226 0505. If you already have a designated care manager, just get in touch with them. You can search for your care manager’s number by typing their name in the search field in the top right corner. 
  • Other vaccinations for children and adolescents (except corona and influenza): Contact your child health clinic or school nurse.
