Advice and guidance for elderly people

We employ a team of professionals who can talk you through any age-related issues you might be experiencing. We can give you advice and guidance on the phone, or refer you to the correct service provider. Our professionals are also trained to assess the urgency of your situation and ensure that you always get the help you need.

We also provide consultancy to other professionals.

If you are already a client of social services, just get in touch with your case worker. See our website for more detailed, service-specific contact information. If your enquiry relates to health care, please contact our health care customer service or use the Omaolo online portal.

How does it work?

When you have a question about yourself

  1. Contact our advice and guidance service for elderly people. If you need help urgently, call our social services emergency number or 112.
  2. Explain your situation to the advisor/dispatcher.
  3. Listen to their instructions and act accordingly.

When you are concerned about someone else

  1. Try to talk to the person you are concerned about yourself first. If they are willing to listen to you and you are still worried, encourage them to contact our advice and guidance service for elderly people.
  2. Some people find it difficult to listen and take advice from others. If you cannot get through to the person you are concerned about and you are still worried, you can contact our advice and guidance service for elderly people yourself. You can also report your concerns anonymously. If you need help urgently, call our social services emergency number or 112.

Who is it for?

This service is primarily designed for people aged over 65 years who live or have a residence in Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Nurmijärvi, Mäntsälä, Pornainen or Tuusula in the wellbeing services county of Central Uusimaa. You can also contact us about a loved one.

Please note that if your enquiry relates to health care, you should first try to contact our health care customer service by phone or online. Our advisors are not, for example, able to book you an appointment to see a nurse or a doctor.
